Columbus Enquirer: From a gentleman near Chalybeate Springs, Meriwether County, 
we learn that Mr. Lock Mitchell shot and mortally wounded Mr. William Phelps at 
the springs yesterday morning.  They got into a dispute about some seed cotton 
and Phelps struck Mitchell, who drew his pistol and shot him in two places.  
Dr. Campbell attended the wounded man, and pronounced the wound mortal.
