OBITUARY OF MRS. MARY WISE

Mary M. Hamrick, daughter of James M. and Vianna Hamrick, was born in 
Meriwether county, Ga. on October 14, 1839 and was married to James S. Wise on 
December 14, 1860; and after a long and painful illness, died at the residence 
of B.M. Smith near Villa Rica on February 7, 1881. Sister Wise learned in 
early life to know Him, whom to know is life eternal. She joined the Baptist 
church at Macedonia and was united with Christ in baptism, administered by 
Elder J. M. Muse on August 16, 1874. As a child she was obedient to her 
parents; as a wife she was a companion indeed. She was a devoted mother, and 
as a child of God, it was always her pleasure to meet at the house of worship.

But alas, she has been called from her labor on earth to that heaven of rest. 
She leaves a husband, six children, five sisters, one brother and her aged 
parents to mourn her loss, but we trust their loss is her eternal gain; 
therefore they weep not as those that have no hope. W.N. Carson
