In disposing of my real estate I wish and desire that all my just debts be paid if I should owe any. Item First. My will and desire is that my beloved wife Elan Lewis have and keep in her possession and for her own use and benefit all my estate both real and personal to wit: my land, negros, horses and stock of every description that I own, m household and kitchen furniture and all and singular my entire estate during her natural life or widowhood. Item Second. I will and desire that upon the death or marriage of my wife that all my estate both real and personal be equally divided between my children and grandchildren. To my children Hollan Knight, Rachal Deas , Josiah Lewis, Senia Lewis, Noah Lewis, Samuel Lewis, Eliza Linsey, Comfort Tyler, James Lewis and Agnes Strickland each one equal share and that my grandchildren to wit: Samuel Davis, Willis Davis, Henry K. Davis, America Davis, Hetty Davis and Sinsey Davis to be equally divided between my said grandchildren and that my grandchildren Susan, Ann ? , Alexander, Catharine, Eliza, William, George and Martha, Lular? children of my daughter Elan Fowler have and share to be equally divided between them, and that my grandchildren to wit: John, Henry, Matilda, William and Jane Clack children of my daughter Annis T. Clack have one share to be equally divided between them. And that my grandchildren to wit: Samuel, Lorenza, William and Owen Simpler children of my daughter Matilda Simpler whose one share to be equally divided between them. Item Third. My will is that if my wife should marry that in that event , I desire that my estate then be divided equally as before set forth giving my children each one share and each set of my grandchildren as before named one share to each set, and my wife Elen Lewis one equal share of my said estate. Item Fourth. I will and desire that my son Noah Lewis execute this my last Will and Testament and I hereby constitute and appoint him my Executor. In testimony of all which I hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of July in the year of our Lord Eighteeen Hundred and Forty Four.
