Item 1st. I desire in the first place that all my just debts shall be paid. 2nd. I give to my daughter Mary A. Douglas two hundred and forty acres of land known as the place whereon I reside including all the dwellings and appertenances to have and to hold in her individual right forever in fee simple. I give to my granddaughter Mary Margaret Douglas my bed, bedstead and furniture. 3rd. I give to my two daughters Rebecca H. Scott and Emily F. Jackson the lot of land known as the Williams lot No. 225 to be divided equally between them. 4th. I desire that my stock of all kinds and household and kitchen furniture shall be sold and after paying my granddaughter Sarah W. Lovelace two hundred dollars and my grandson Carlile B. Martin twenty dollars, the balance if any to be equally divided among my three daughters, viz: Mary A. Douglas, Rebecca H. Scott and Emily F. Jackson. 6th. (does not have a 5th. item.) The property real and personal bequeathed to my daughter Rebecca H. Scott, I give to her and her children free from any control of her husband Henry Scott and I hereby appoint my grandson William Scott trustee of the property bequeathed to my daughter Rebecca Scott and her children for their ? and benefit. 7th. I give to my daughter Mary A. Douglas my Insurance Policy whatever it may amount to as her individual right. 8th. I hereby constitute and appoint Dr. C.A. Stiles and B.W. Williams my Executors to carry out the provisions of this my last Will and Testament. Jordan Rees (seal) Given under my hand and seal this 1st day of March 1875 In presence of: Stith A. Parham Robt. T.C. Tucker, John Jackson At Home, March 1, 1875 My dear children, I have endeavored to act conscientiously in the distribution of my effects. I have left Mary Ann more land than any of her sisters, simply because i have been a burden to her and will continue to be so as long as God seeith fit to prolong my life. Tucker Georgia, Meriwether County Ordinary's Office, December Term 1879 The within last Will and Testament of Jordan Rees, dec'd, having been offered for Probate at this regular Term of the Court in common form and satisfactorily proven upon the testimony of Stith A. Parham and Robt. T.C. Tucker, two of the subscribing witnesses who testified to al the facts necessary to prove the same. Ordered that the same be admitted to Record as the last Will and Testament of Jordan Rees, dec'd, as proven in common form and that the nominated Executors B.W. Williams and C.A. Stiles be and they are hereby allowed to qualify and upon their so doing, that Letters Testamentary issue to them. Under my hand and official signature this 1st day of December 1879. A.J.
