WILL OF NAPOLEON BONAPARTE LOVETT GEORGIA 1872 MERIWETHER COUNTY IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Napoleon B. Lovett of the said County and State being of sound and desposing mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, deem it right and proper that I should dispose of the property which a kind Providence has blessed me. I do therefore make this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and annulling all others by me heretofore made. FIRST: I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner suitable to my circumstances in life. My Soul I trust shall return to rest with God who gave it as I hope for Eternal Life through the merits and atonement of our Blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. SECONDLY: I desire that and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay by my Executors hereafter named. THIRDLY; The property heretofore given off to my sons, Byrd, John C., and Warren P. Lovett is hereby confirmed according to the terms on which the same was conveyed and the portion given off to my son-in-law Thomas A. Reeves consisting of a plantation and other advancements estimated at Twenty Seven Hundred and Eight Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents is hereby confirmed to his own use and trust. FOUTHLY: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah S. Lovett for and during her natural life or so long as she remains on the Place which I have heretofore given to her in lieu of dower, My library, one couch, one center tablet, one steel mill, one two horse waggon and harness, one ox cart, one carpenter chest, and tools, all my plantation and farming tools at the Place Champinole, one half dozen silver forks, one iron mortar and pestle, four large silver spoons and one brass kettle, and in the event of the death of my said wife or her removal from the place mentioned then the articles given to her are to go to my son, Warren P. Lovett. FIFTHLY: I give and bequeath to my son, Warren P. Lovett, my wardrobe and contents, bureau, casket, small black trunk, gold watch, gold pen, two gold pencils, top buggy and single and double harness saddle and bridle, one bed stead and furniture at the place know as Mt Chulis, double barrel shot gun, shoe makers tools, one full set of blacksmith’s tools, one six horse waggon and harness, one wash stand and one half interest in the Plantation and farming tools, running gear, & c at the last mentioned place. SIXTHLY: I will and direct that all the property not herein or heretofore disposed of that I may own at the time of my death of every description whatever be equally divided between my three sons and my two grand children Mary and Virgil A. The share going to my grand children is to remain in the hands of my sons Byrd and John C. Lovett for the purpose of educating my said grandchildren or until they marry or arrive at age. SEVENTHLY: Having made ample provisions for my said wife, Sarah S. Lovett by deed of gift and deed of trust I deam the limitations in the 4th Item and the manner in which the articles mentioned are herein given as just and proper and equitable. EIGHTLY: I hereby nominate and appoint my son Byrd Lovett, Guardian for the person and property of my son Warren P. Lovett during his minority and I direct that my said son Byrd become chargeable for the support and education of my said son Warren P. discharging the expenses of the same out of the separate and jont income of the said Warren P. and after the completion of his education to pay the residue of said income (if any) over to the said Warren P. NINTHLY: I hereby nominate and appoint my sons Byrd and John C Lovett Executors of this my last Will and Testament confiding in their integrity for the faithful execution of the same. Terrell and David Ellis two (2) of the subscribing Witnesses Ordered that the same be admitted to Record as the last Will and Testament of said deceased and that letters, testamentary do issue to the nominated Executors John C. and Byrd Lovett upon their qualifying.
