And whereas said application has been regularly published as required by law and there being no objections filed against said application. It is ordered by the court that the said John Hodges be and he is duly appointed administrator of all and is singular tho Estate real and financial of said decd. by his taking of the usual oath in such cases and entering into bond in the Sum of Twelve thousand dollars with Riley Turner Irijah Smith and Skinner Merritt Securities in said bond. And it is further ordered that the Clerk of the Courts do open to said Hodges letter of Administration refer the Estate of said dead in terms of the Law in such cases made and provided. Ordered That S.K.Witenub, G.H. Chappell file claim. Gibson I. Wevdnoff and family ----be duly appointed appraisers of the Estate of Henry Meacham late of said County deed. Abner Durham of ?? For the County It appearing to the Court that J.W.? Edwards Exec. Item 2 January Term 1849 Ordered that John Hodges Administrator of the Estate of Henry Meacham decd. has time and be allowed to rent the land and hire out the Negroes belonging to the Estate of said decd. either publicly or privately at his discretion for the present year. John Jones of GA. For the Court Item 3 Whereas John Hodges Administrator upon the Estate of Henry Meacham decd. applies for time to sell all the real Estate belonging to said Estate and whereas it appears to the Court? That notice has been given in one of the Gazetts of this state and being shown to the Court the same is for the benefit of the heirs and creditors of said dead. It is therefor kindly ordered that John Hodges have clear to sell all the real Estate belonging to the Estate of said decd. by first giving notice as required by law, in such care made and provided. Item 4 July Term 1849 Georgia To John Hodges administrator of the Meriwether County Estate of Henry Mitcham late of the State and County aforsaid You are duly notified that I am the widow of the Said Henry Mitcham decd. have and do have make Election in regard to my interest in the Estate of said decd. I have elected and shall take a child's portion of said Estate duly relinquishing to said Estate all right title interest and claim in and to Dower in Said Estate fully freely and entirely this 1st day of May 1849. Meacham Meriwether Court of Ordinary July Term 1849 Ordered that the above notice be received and approved by this Court and that the same be entered before the minutes Therof Item 5 January Term 1850 Ordered that John Hodges Admin. of the Estate of Henry Meacham decd. has been and be allowed until the next term of this County to make annual return on said estate and that he has been and be allowed to rent out the land and hire only the negroes belonging to said estate either publicly or privately at his discretion for the present year.
