of Captain Greenleaf's Company Louisiana
Cavalry for May-June 1864, last on file, shows him
"Absent, detailed in hospital by order General Stewart."
Paroled at Memphis, Tenn. May 15, 1865.

Between March 31 and April 17, 1865 , the 40th, 41st and
43d Regiments  Georgia Volunteer Infantry were consolidated to form the
40th Battalion Georgia Volunteer Infantry which surrendered at
Greensboro, N. C. April 26, 1865.
