Banks Co. D Pike County Cavalry Charles F. Redding Pike County This battalion was organized in August 1863 to serve for six months as local defense within the following boundaries. Commencing in Augusta thence along the Georgia Railroad to Atlanta, including Fulton County, thence by railroad to West Point and down the Chattahoochee River to Fort Gaines, thence to the eastern terminus of the Ocmulgee and Flint Railroad, thence in line to Millen and Augusta.
