Cooper dated at Darien, on the 15th. inst. Maj. Cooper states that the troops arrived at Darien on Saturday morning the 13th. Two steamboats had left for Picolata with 180 men and others were procured to take on the remainder of the Battalion immediately. The letter mentions nothing of sickness or accidents, so that we take it for granted ---“all’s well. Standard of Union Soldiers to the field! --- In addition to the troops already on the way to Florida, the Governor has ordered the following Volunteer Companies of Cavalry to march without delay, viz: The Macon Independent Horse, Capt. Johnson; The Twiggs Cavalry, Capt. John L. Gresham: The Buckskin Hussars, from Dooly, Capt. David Graham and the Butts Cavalry, Cap t. Thomas Wilson—making in all, about four hundred. About twenty companies of Volunteer infantry have tendered their services to the Governor to march at a moment’s warning whenever their services may be required. ---ib From the Tallahassee Floridian THE WAR—Six companies of Militia will take their line of march tomorrow for St. Marks, where they will embark for Tampa to join the troops already there. They are well armed and equipped, and make a very soldierlike appearance. They go under the command of Gen. Call and Colonel Read. Captain Searcy commands the Leon Volunteers—Capt. Tatum, the Leon Militia—Capt. Shaw, the Gadsden Volunteers---and Capt. Allison, the Franklin Volunteers----and Captain Townsend, the Jefferson Militia
