(King) Forrester Rabun County GA Samuel Beck's Company in the 1st Regiment, first Brigade of Georgia Mounted Volunteers 1837-1838 Honorably discharged on May 7, 1838. Camp Call, Hall Co. GA. Mustered into service in Hall County on October 5, 1837 Others on Capt. Beck's roll: Henry Hopper, John D. Dickerson, William F. Dickerson, Nace Walls and William D. Langston These records are from the National Archives in Washington D.C. Matilda his wife listed in her letter the following names listed just as she spelled them. Jeff Hopper, Tera Dickerson, Thomas Dotson, Nathern Walls, William Langston, William Shiers, James Roach, William Davis, Tilliam Gooch, David Deener, Volintine Cook and Henry Hopper. (Not all of these were found on the rosters, however) Their correspondence said that he received bounty land but she did not know the number or the lawyer who procurred it. Their house had burned some years before. In later years: Thomas K. Forrester enlisted in Cleveland TN November 13, 1861 and was discharged May 27, 1862 . He was 52 years old. He was in the 5th Cavlary, McKenzie's Company. He was a corporal.. The pension was filed in Cullman County Al. Took her several years to get it. Commencing July 27, 1892, certificate issued May 18, 1894. She received $8. per month. Her claim was dropped November 4, 1897, failure to claim. I guess she died.
