VOLUNTEER COMPANIES. 1835 Vol. 1 -- Page: 292 Sequential Number: 170 Full Title: AN ACT to incorporate a Volunteer Rifle Company in the county of Liberty, to be called the Taylor's Creek Rifle Company. Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Georgia in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the company of riflemen on Taylor's creek, Liberty county, commanded by William G. Robinson, be, and is hereby incorporated under the title of the Taylor's Creek Rifle Company; and that the members thereof are hereby authorized and empowered to form such rules and regulations, and pass such by-laws for their own government as are necessary, and when formed and passed shall be binding on such company, and each individual thereof, to all intents and purposes: Provided, that such by-laws and regulations be not repugnant to the laws of this State or the United States. Sec. 2. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That a board of the officers of said company shall be formed of three or more, two of whom shall be competent to form a court of inquiry, and to try and fine delinquents for non attendance, or other default or misconduct, as members of said company; which court shall be governed by the laws and rules regulating company courts of inquiry in this State.
