WILLIAM WILSON in the Regiment of Georgia Vol, commanded by MAJ. FORD in the Creek War; that her said husband enlisted at Fort Gains [Gaines] Ga, on or about the - day of May, 1836 for the term of three mo, and was discharged at Fort Gains on the - day of August, 1836….. that at the time of entering the service claimed for, her said husband was 28 yrs of age, five feet 9 inches in height, with blue eyes, Black hair, Fair complexion, by occupation a Farmer, and that he was born at county of Oree, State of SC. That after leaving the service he resided at Ft Gains six years, at Madison county [FL] since that time. That she was married to him on the 28th May 1829 at Ft Gains, by Millier[?] Brady, a minister of gospel under the name Elam S Lee; that he had not been previously married; … that she had not been married before…; that hse has not remarried… her post office address is Moseley Hall, county of Madison, state of Fla…. [signed] Anna x(her mark) Lee Attest: L L Hinely[?]; L F Hinely[?] Also personally appeared L L Hinely, aged 56 yrs, and L F Hinely aged 38 yrs, residing at Mosely Hall, Madison Co…have known applicant 30 years and 30 years… [Letter] Treasury Department, Second Auditor's Office, Washington, D.C., April 6, 1893 Respectfully returned to the Hon. Comm'r of Pensions. The name Elam S Lee is not borne on any roll of Capt. Wm. Wilson's Co., Ga. Vols, 1836. ELIAS LEE was paid as private in said company from June 1 to Aug 31, 1836. General Affidavit. 15 Apr 1893, Hiram Henderson, aged 63 yrs a resident of Moseley Hall, Madison Co Florida & Norman McDonald, aged 87 yrs a resident of Madison Co Fla… that Elam S Lee died 28 day of July 1875 they were present and saw and helped to bury him and that the applicant had not remarried Claimants Affidavit. 21st Apr 1894…. Anna Lee, aged 82 yrs, resident of Moseley Hall, Madison Co, Florida…. his comrads was as follows, ABNER JACKSON, JOHN HARDESON, ASA LEE, ___ WILLIAM can't remember his given name to the best of her recollection [Note xeroxed on the top of this page: ABNER JACKSON recd B. L. for service in Capt. Wilson's Co. Ga Vols. R. A. H. May 7 /94] Letter to Department of the Interior, Bureau of Pensions, Washington, D.C., May 16, 1896… I have to request that you will please furnish a statement of the service of ELAM ZADOK LEE, who is alleged enlisted June 1, 1836 in Capt. William Wilsons company of Ga Vols and was discharged Aug 31, 1836. Please furnish such data as will show whether the names of ABNER JACKSON-JOHN HARDESON [**See note below] and ASA LEE are borne on the rolls of the company and whether they were mustered into the service of the United States. Very respectfully, Wm Lochren, commissioner [Reply] Record and Pension Office, May 18, 1896… The name Elam Zadoc Lee has not been found on rolls of Capt. WILLIAM S. WILSON'S Co. Hardee's Battn, Ga. Mil. Creek War, which served from June 1 to Sept 1, 1836. The names ABNER JACKSON and JOHN M HARDYSON [**See note] are borne on rolls of above co… Claimants Affidavit. Florida, Madison Co., Annie Lee widow of Elam Lee, 14 July 1894… Annie Lee, aged 82 yrs, resident of Moseley in county of Madison, PO Moseley Hall… That her late Husband, Elam Lee full name was Elam Zadoc some spell it Sadoc and I don't know how it was spelled on the muster roll it mite have been signed Elam Z or Elam S I cant tell which WILLIAM ASA [LEE] a brother of the said Elam Lee was in the same company with him….. State of Florida, County of Madison, In the matter of Pension of Mrs. Anna Lee, widow of Elam S Lee, on this 13th Aug 1894, … Anna Lee, aged 82 yrs, a resident of Moseley Hall in county of Madison, and state of Florida… That her husband never applied for land warrant and [never] did received any. can's send comrades testimony as they are all Dead or at least cant find any of them and that this affidavit was all write in my presence and from oral statement made by me on this the 13th day of Aug 1894 at Moseley Hall in Madison county Fla… the statement was written and I was not aided or promted by any writen or printed statement prepared or dictated by any other person… At bottom is copy of note: "Capt R H Willard You will please pay to the order of T C McKain five dollars and oblige yours Resp. Elam S Lee January 25, 1858 Claim Rejected 12 June [18]96 Rejection on the ground of no record of service as alleged…
