Henry Mitchell, 1760-1839, is buried in the Sparta Cemetery, in Hancock Co. Mary Ann 16 July 1839--Died on 3rd intst at his residence on Rocky Cr, MR DANIEL WALKER, a Rev pensioner, in 77th yr of his age, native of Augusta; in War of Rev under Gen Twiggs; detailed with 12 others......... 6 Aug 1839-- Died at residence of his son in Baldwin Co on 3rd ult MR OTEY PROSSER, in abt 80th yr of his age after lingering abt 18 mo with dead palsy; served in Rev war with honor of himself & his country 12 Nov 1839-- Died at his residence in Jones Co 30th Oct MR JAMES WADSWORTH, nr 75 yrs of age--citizen of NC during Rev War; he was actively engaged with Whigs in the struggle for Independence; subsequently removed to Hancock Co Ga; from there to his late residence, leaving a number of connections & friends to mourn their loss 11 Feb 1840-- Died on the 25th ult at Residence of Soloman B Murphey Esq of Irwinton Ga, MR NATHANIEL WARD, formerly of VA in his 96th yr--having been a citizen of GA for more than half a century--served under Washington in several campaigns during the Rev War-- proverty pressed heavily during latter part of his life 25 Feb 1840-- Died at his residence in Newton Co 20th Dec last MR HEZEKIAH GATES in the 83rd yr of his age, native of VA, but for number of years a resident of GA; fought under banner of Washington; Baptist church number of years 25 Feb 1840-- Died at his residence in Walton Co on the 6th inst STARK BROWN, in 84th yr of his age--a Rev soldier 14 Apr 1840-- Died in Cass Co, on 28th ult JOHN SMITH in the 80th yr of his age. He served 4 yrs in Rev War. 8 Dec 1840--from Savannah-- Revolutionary Soldiers--two of our old veterans still alive--SHEFTALL SHEFTALL,Esq 78 yrs. This gentleman dresses in the old ancient costume. MR JOHN CABOS--94-- in health, but feeble. MR ELIAS BOLLOUGH, 77--since taken in the census, has departed this life Nov 1998
