Brittain Davis b. 9/29/1794 Elbert Co., GA, d. 11/13/1871 Randolph Co., AL, m. Elizabeth Coker.

Brittain served in the War of 1812 under Capt. Charles
Carter's Company, 1st Georgia Regiment as a Private.

Col. Walton Harris, Commander of Regiment, later Col. Samuel
Graves, Gen. John Floyd - Daniel Newman Division at Camp
Hope near Fort Hawkins, GA. Battles this unit participated
in: Ortisa Town and Colibes.

Enlisted August 25, 1813, Discharged March 9, 1814, at
Milledgeville, Georgia. Brittain made $8.00 per month while
enlisted.
His first son was named after his commanding officer, General John Floyd.
