She was born in Miller County on March 5, 1909, and was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Joe B. Gilbert and was the wife of the late William Thomas Cooper. She was a member of Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church in Colquitt. Funeral services for Mrs. Cooper was held Tuesday, February 7, at 10:00 a. m. at Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Emory Corbitt officiating. Interment was in the City Cemetery in Colquitt. Pallbearers were Lavon Lovering, Horace Lovering, Steve Holt, Abbie Calhoun, Robert Tulley, and Junior Williams. Survivors include three sons, Lamar Cooper and Talmadge Cooper, both of Colquitt, and Harold Cooper of Norristown, Pennsylvania; one brother, Willie Gilbert, Colquitt; and one sister, Mrs. Clyde DuBose, Albany; four grandchildren and two great - grandchildren.
