Mr. Sheffield was born in Colquitt, Miller County, and was a longtime resident of Tallahassee, FL. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was employed in the electronics business for over 40 years. Mr. Sheffield was also a WWII veteran haveing served in the U.S. Navy. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 22, at 11 a.m., at Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Home-Riggins Road Chapel in Tallahassee, FL. Interment followed at 3 p.m. in Roberts' Cemetery in Colquitt. Survivors include one son, Scott Sheffield of Crawfordville, FL; four daughters, Patsy Williams and Sandra Garmon, Amy Rogers, all of Tallahassee, FL; and Linda Bok of Maryland; one brother, Billy Sheffield , of Lake Jem, FL; Two sisters, Ruby Morris and Beth Mazock, both of Delaware; and five grandchildren. Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Homes-Riggins Road Chapel was in charge of arrangements. James Avon Sheffield was the son of the late Joseph Clarence Sheffield and Catherine Everett Sheffield of Miller County.
