Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today (Monday) at First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, with burial in Friendship Memorial Gardens. The Revs. Luther Hastey and Benny Boggus will officiate. Born on August 28, 1915 in Miller County, Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the later John Howard and Ida Mae Hodges Gause. She was retired after 35 years as lunchroom director in Seminole County School System. She attended Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, where she taught GA's and Sunday School in the youth department. Mrs. Hill is the widow of Collie Hill Sr., who died February 1995. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Edwina and John Peterson of Joplin, Mo.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Edward and Joan Hill of Rome, John D. and Faye Hill, and Collie Jr. and Saundra, all of Donalsonville; a brother, Aubrey Gause of Columbus; and 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.. Preceded in death by three brothers, Lester Mathis, Raymond Mathis and Rudolph Gause. Pallbearers are John Hill, David Hill, Patrick Hill, Kevin Hill, Randy Hill, Eddie Hill, Neil Durham and Joel Durham. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of First Baptist Church of Donalsonville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials to First Baptist Church of Donalsonville.
