Gerald Wayne Kirkland

COLQUITT — Gerald Wayne Kirkland, 67, of 102 Houston Road, Colquitt, died Sunday,
February 17, 2002, at Miller County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at New Salem Freewill Baptist Church with 
interment in Primitive Union Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry McArthur will officiate.
A native of Miller County, Mr. Kirkland was born June 26, 1934. He was a farmer and 
a member of New Salem Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kent Kirkland of Colquitt; two daughters, 
Kaye Braswell of Colquitt and Leanne Avant of Tallahassee, Fla.; mother, Ida Lee Davis
of Colquitt; five grandchildren, Brandon Josey, Leah Avant, Callie Avant, 
George Avant III, and Emily Braswell; several nieces and nephews also survive.
