The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** George Loyless Mr. George Loyless, age 78, of Route 1, Brinson, died Thursday, April 16, 1987, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Loyless was born in Miller County August 6, 1908, but had lived in Decatur County for the past 50 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, and was the retired owner and operator of Loyless Donut Shop in Brinson. He was also a retired carpenter, and had worked at Durham's Scrap Metal Company of Bainbridge for several years. Funeral services for Mr. Loyless were held Sunday, April 19, 1987, at 3:00 p. m. from the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Billy Starling and Rev. David Collins officiating. Interment followed in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. (Miller Co., GA) Pallbearers were Carrol McLendon, Charles Wright, Edwin King, Dolan Busby, Scott Nordan and W. E. Busby. Survivors include his wife, Lettie McLendon Loyless, Brinson; one daughter, Mrs. Mavis Brooks, Donalsonville; three sons Garland Loyless, Dothan, Alabama, Joe Loyless, Bainbridge, and James (Pete) Loyless, Byers, Texas, three sisters, Mrs. Emma Cumbie, and Mrs. Ruby Evans, both of Bainbridge, and Mrs. Rebecca McLendon, Leesburg; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Cox Funeral Home, Bainbridge was in charge of arrangements. *** George William Loyless, Jr. was married to Lettie McLendon 18 February 1928 in Miller County, Georgia Book G, Page 103.*** George William Loyless was the son of George Washington Loyless and Minnie Electra Bertie Cloud Barbree.
