The funeral was held Thursday, January 4 at New Hope Baptist Church in Blakely (Early County) with interment in Houston Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Odom officiated. A native of Miller County, Mrs. Wasdin lived in Early County most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Blakely. Mrs. Wasdin was the widow of Oscar E. Wasdin and was preceded in death by a daughter, Leta Wasdin and a son Hubert Wasdin. She was the daughter of the late Smiley and Lucy Mock Houston. Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Wasdin and Evan Wasdin, both of Blakely and Lamar Wasdin of Waskom, Texas; three daughters, Lucy Collins of Blakely, Nancy Potesta of Lilburn and Mary Ellen Didier of Panama City, Florida; 20 grandchildren, Gayle Anderson, Evan Wasdin, Dan Wasdin, Leslie Wasdin, Vicki Pitts, Nicki Henson, Scott Wasdin, Chris Wasdin, Alan Wasdin, Dale Wasdin, Ann Waycaster, Mallory Garland, Rhonda Collins, Susan McClendon, Beth Wasdin, Jim Wasdin, James Potesta, Paul Potesta, Dawn Porras and Debbie DeHoog and 23 great granddchildren.
