Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Colquitt Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Gordon Cemetery. The Revs. Tim Mock and Tony Walker will officiate. Born on April 6, 1912 in Miller County, Mr. West attended Mount Olive Holiness Church. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Army. He was also a member of Gerald Grow Post No.165 American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Irene West of Colquitt; two sons, John West of Roswell and Larry Stephens of Albany; two daughters, Susan Kelley and Becky LaGuardia, both of Colquitt; two sisters, Dixie Baker of Mobile, Ala., and Ruby Johnson of Colquitt; four brothers, Max West of Orlando, Fla., Buford West of Hazelhurst, Don West of Albany, and Ray West of Long Island, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today (Sunday) at the funeral home. Active pallbearers are Benny West, Billy West, Michael Widner, LaDon Merritt, Dan McCorkle and Wayne Powell. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Gerald Grow Post No. 165 American Legion.
