The Cherokee Advance 10 June 1887 p 2
The Milton Democrat reports that three years ago a little boy of Mr. Wm. Bell's 
was bitten by a mad dog on the arm, to which a mad stone was applied and stuck 
fast to the wound twice. The wound soon healed and apparently the boy was free 
from all hydrophobic symptoms, but a few weeks ago he was taken sick and died with 
convulsions, and it is the opinion of the physician who attended him that he died 
from hydrophobia.
