The funeral of Mrs. P. J. Keadle, whose death occurred at Thomasville last Thursday, 2 Jun 1927, morning was held at Hopeful Baptist Church last Friday, 3 Jun 1927, afternoon at 4:00 PM. Rev S. O. Thomas conducted the services, which were attended by a large number of relatives and friends. Interment was made in Hopeful cemetery. Mrs. Keadle's death last week after a short illness was a sad shock to the entire Hopeful community, where she had lived her life ane was greatly beloved. Her death was due to an acute attack of appendicitis. As soon as the gravity of her condition was recognized she was rushed to a hospital in Thomasville for an operation. Her condition was so serious, however, that the operation was not performed and she died a few hours after reaching the hospital. Mrs. Keadle was 26 years of age and the mother of six little girls, the oldest of whom is eight years old. She was a member of Hopeful Baptist church and was a consecrated Christian woman whose influence was a blessing in the community. Beside her husband and little children, she is also survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Hays of Hopeful, and the following brothers and sisters: Messrs. Louie Hays of Akron, Ohio; Carlton Hays of East Palm Beach, Fla; Paul, Henry, L. H. Jr. and William Hays of Hopeful; Mrs. Brady Beasley of North Mitchell; Misses Elizabeth, Bertha, Maudie and Esther of Hopeful.
