Camilla, Georgia. Many friends throughout this section of the county were grieved to hear of the death of Mrs. Jennie Shirah, which occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.M. Lucky, of Pleasant Hill Community on Friday night, 15 Dec 1922 after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Hill Church Saturday at 2:30 PM attended by a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends. The services were conducted by Rev H.N. Burnett. Mrs. Shirah was the widow of the late Mr. A.G. Shirah, who preceded her to the grave about three years ago. She was sixty four years of age when her earthly pilgrimage came to an end and entered into the rest prepared for her. She had been a Christian since her early childhood when she united with the Baptist church and her life had been one of unselfish service and Christian influence to all with whom she came in contact. She was beloved by a large number of friends, who join the bereaved family in mourning her loss. Mrs. Shirah is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. W.M. Lucky, Mrs. C.E. Rackley, Mrs. C.H. Vines and by several step- children and a number of near relatives.
