Camilla, Georgia. Loved ones and friends throughout the county were saddened by the death of Mrs. Mollie Shiver, wife of Mr. Henry Shiver, which took place at 11:00 PM Saturday, 7 Oct 1922, at the home in the southeastern suburb of the city after a desperate illness of several weeks. Mrs. Shiver's health gave way during the early part of the summer and since that time physicians and specialists have been consulted again and again in hopes of some benefit being gained toward her relief, but the decline was rapid and for the past four weeks it was known that the end was gradually drawing near. To the weary sufferer it meant a happy relief from the burden of life and glorious entrance into the mansion prepared for her. Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion church Sunday, 8 Oct, at 11:00 AM, when a large number of friends and relatives were present, giving testimony of their tender and loving regard for the deceased. Rev H. B. Woodward, pastor of the Camilla Baptist church, conducted the services, after which the body was tenderly laid to rest in the churchyard. Mrs. Shiver was about 59 years of age when death called her from a useful life to her reward in Heaven. She was born in Worth county and was Miss Mollie Shiver before her marriage to Mr. Henry O. Shiver. she spent most of her married life in this county and is known and loved by a large number of friends besides an unusually large number of relatives. Her life was lived quietly and without ostentation, yet she was true and faithful servant of God and found ample opportunity within her home and neighborhood circle to live out and unselfishly her faith, expressed in kind and loving deeds and good influence. Early in life she accepted Christ and joined the Baptist church, of which she was a consistent member for a long number of years. The deceased is survived by her husband and one son, Mr. Hilary A. Shiver, and also her aged mother, Mrs. Betty Shiver, who are heart broken by her death. Their numbers of friends throughout the county extend a deep and tender sympathy to the bereaved family in the sadness of their loss.
