Camilla, Georgia. An aged and much beloved citizen of Mitchell County, Mrs. Mary Luckey Morgan, died at her home in Cotton, Ga. at an early hour Tuesday morning. Weakened and infirm with the weight of years, she had been nearing the end of life for some time, though her last illness was not long. Loved ones were not prepared for her quiet going away, but there is a deep sense of loss and sorrow in the absence of this good woman. Funeral Services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 PM at Mt. Zion Church, conducted by Rev. S.O. Thomas and attended by a large congregation of friends and relatives of the deceased. Mrs. Morgan had reached the remarkable age of eighty-five years when her death occurred. She had spent her entire life in this county. She was Miss Mary Luckey, member of one of the pioneer families of Mitchell County, and had lived her life so faithfully, bravely and unselfishly that the reward of length of years was given to her. She had been a lifelong Christian, having united with the Baptist Church in her early girlhood. Surviving the deceased are her aged husband, Mr. R. Morgan; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Sloan, and two sons, Messrs. Joe and Andrew Morgan. Mrs. Seab Palmer and Miss Winnie Luckey are sisters and Mr. J.L. Luckey is a brother. Besides these, there are numbers of other relatives and many friends who are saddened by Mrs. Morgan's death, and a tender sympathy goes out to the bereaved ones.
