Camilla, Georgia. Many friends all over the county were saddened by the death of Mrs. W.M. Luckey, which took place Saturday night at about 11:00 PM at the home of the deceased in Pleasant Hill community. Mrs. Luckey's illness began with a severe attack of pneumonia several months ago. She never recovered from the effects of it, her strength gradually waning until the end. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Hill church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.G. Graham, a large number of friends and relatives attending the services. Mrs. Luckey was before her marriage, Miss Sallie Shirah. she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Shirah, and was born and reared at the family home near Flint. She was one of eleven (11) girls having no brothers. She was happily married about thirteen (13) years ago to Mr. W.M. Luckey, who survived her with five little boys. Mrs. Luckey was thirty-eight years of age at the time of her death. She was a woman of devoted Christian character and the many activities of a loving wife, mother, sister and neighbor made up her life of quiet service. She was converted early in life and united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of which she was a loyal member until her death. Besides the heartbroken husband and children, the deceased leaves the following sisters: Mrs. W.D. Adams, Mrs. G.W. Faircloth, Mrs. Morgan Mansfield, Mrs. Braid Williams, Mrs. Floyd Fowler, Mrs. Miles Mansfield, Mrs. Carl Rackley and Mrs. Clarence Vines, all of Mitchell County.
