Camilla, Georgia. MR. T. J. GLAUSIER CLAIMED BY DEATH - PRESIDENT OF COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION PASSED AWAY FRIDAY. - The entire county mourns the loss of one of its most beloved and useful citizens in the death of Mr. Thomas Jefferson Glausier, who died at his home at Baconton Friday morning after an illness of three weeks following a stroke of paralysis. His death was not unexpected, though friends all over the county received the news of his death with pangs of sadness. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Baconton Methodist church. The pastor, Rev. R. F. Dennis, officiating. A large concourse of friends representing the entire county were present at the services and followed the body to its last resting place at old Mt. Enon cemetery. Mr. Glausier passed away on his seventy- fifth birthday, having closed a long and worthy life here. He was a man of the highest type of a Christian gentleman and worthy citizen. The beauty of his character and brotherly love of others had caused him to be deeply loved and esteemed generally. An outstanding characteristic was his love for little children, which was demonstrated continually in his life. He loved the cause of Education and was an outstanding citizen of Mitchell county in that respect, having served on the county Board of Education for more than thirty years. He loved the church and had been a devoted member of the Methodist church for long years and had served faithfully in many offices of the church. A man of remarkable strength of character, Christian and high minded, useful citized, his home community and the county at large sustain a great loss in his death. Surviving the deceased are his wife, who has happily lived at his side for fifty-four years, their three sons, O. J. Glausier, of Camilla; G. W. Glausier, of Decatur, and W. L. Glausier, of Miami, Fla; and two daughters, Mrs. J. P. Ramsey, of Augusta, and Mrs. B. Neal Haigler, of Hayesville, N. C. He leaves one sister, Miss Sophia Glausier, of Baconton.
