IN MEMORIAL: A shadow of sorrow was cast over our church and community when it became known that our sister, Mrs. Bessie Shiver, had been called from earth away. Her going closed a noble and most beautiful Christian life. Sister Shiver was born July 30, 1896. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cook. Very early in life she joined the Baptist church and lived a consistent and devoted member until death. She was married to Mr. Troy Shiver on November 30, 1914, living happily together until called home. On August 19, 1931 in the flower of her young womanhood, our loving Heavenly Father in his wisdom, and for his own glory, saw best to take her to himself. It is hard for us to understand why in early life, with a bright future and the promise of a useful life, but it was the Father's will. Beside her husband and two children, she is survived by her parents and two brothers. We, the committee, in behalf of the Church, desire to express our deep sorrow at her going, and our appreciation of her consecrated Christian life. To the bereaved ones we extend our heartfelt sympathy and pray that God's choicest blessings may abide with each and all of them. She has gone to yonder city, to abide forever more, to that land of fadeless beauty, she has reached a brighter shore. (Signed) Mrs. J. W. Beck; Mrs. Bruce Clenny.
