Twice in as many days have we been called upon here to pay our last respects to the departed of our friends. First to one, whose life had been long and useful, and by that fact had endeared herself to a great host of relatives and friends. The next, one whose life had just begun, and yet had endeared and entwined itself so much around the hearts and lives of many, that it' going away was just as hard to bear. Blighted hopes! Funeral services for Carey, 5 month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carey Burnett, whose death occurred at their home in Albany Tuesday, 22 Aug 1933, afternoon was held at the Baptist church Wednesday, 23 Aug 1933, at 4:00 PM, with Rev J. S. Winn, pastor of Byne Memorial church at Albany, in charge of the service, assisted by Rev S. O. Thomas, a life-long friend of the family. "Asleep In Jesus, " and "Little Children," were sweetly sung by young ladies from Albany. A large crowd of out of town relatives and friends accompanied the body here. Interment was in Sale City cemetery. Although this little jewel had only been loaned to his parents for a few short months, he had won the love of many and his going away is a crushing blow, but of such jewels, is the Master's crown adorned, and knowing this, they would not call him back. Mr. Burnett is the son of Rev and Mrs. H. N. Burnett and Mrs. Burnett was Miss Golden Cobb, a former resident of Sale City and both graduates of Sale City High School. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to them in their grief.
