Camilla, Georgia. Causing widespread sorrow among friends and relatives throughout the county was the death of Mrs. Florence Josephine Sanders, which occurred at the home on South Scott Street Friday, 8 Feb 1935, at 9:00 AM. Mrs. Sanders had been suffering with a complication of troubles and had been in bed most of the time. Recently she had made a large improvement and was able to be about the house some. She was taken suddenly ill Wednesday and continued to grow worse until the end Friday morning. Funeral services were held Sunday, 10 Feb 1935, morning at 10:00 AM at the Baptist Church in the presence of a large assemblage of sorrowing friends. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev S. H. Bennett and hymns of Christian faith were sung by the choir. After the service at the church the remains were carried out to Mt. Zion cemetery for interment in the family lot beside the father and mother of the deceased. Serving as active pallbearers were Messrs. John F. Stoudenmire, John R. Adams, Jim Williford, W. G. Williford, A. A. Maples and J. G. Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Messrs. R. E. L. Culpepper, P. E. Bailey, R. W. Branan, H. B. Rivers, I. H. Cordell and B. H. Hurst. Mr. J. R. Bramlett of Camilla Hardware and Implement Co. was the undertaker in charge. Mrs. Sanders was sixty- one years of age. She was born in Thomas County and was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Cooper. A number of years ago she was united in marriage to Mr. A. L. Sanders. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders had resided in Camilla for the last twenty-five years. Her grandparents were pioneer settlers in this section and widely known for their deep piety. Mrs. Sanders had been a happy Christian during her entire life and had united with the Baptist church in her girlhood days. She loved the church and was active in its affairs. She was a devoted wife and mother and was a good neighbor and friend. Her happy cheerful manner was always the same. Numbers of friends who had been close to her in life, mourn with the bereaved family the death of this good woman. Her husband survives here with their two sons, Forrest L. Sanders of San Diego, Calif., and Astor W. Sanders who lived at home with his parents. Mrs. Sanders leaves also three sisters, Mrs. W. B. Marshall of Miami, Fla.; Mrs. B. J. Marshall of Camilla; and Mrs. E. L. Williams of Dunellon, Fla. Among the relatives who came from a distance to attend the funeral here Sunday were: Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Williams, Robert Williams and Cooper Marshall of Dunellon, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. John Wimberly, Bernice Wimberly, Mrs. W. D. Whitley, Misses Vera and Myra Ray of Sale City; Mrs. Fate Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Warren of Nashville; Mr. and Mrs. W. D.
