Camilla, Georgia. Sale City----The sudden death of Mr. Jep Shiver here Tuesday, 6 Feb 1934, about 10:30 AM, was a distinct shock to the entire community. He and his two older children were on their way somewhere near here to clean out a well. When they got in the car with Mr. Jim Hooks, Mr. Shiver asked Mr. Hooks how he was feeling. Hooks replied, "Fine, how are you?" "I'm not feeling so good" he replied and slumped over on the seat. His boys shook him and getting no response, Mr. Hooks turned around and brought him back to town, where Dr. Stevens pronounced him dead. Mr. Shiver was about 45 years of age and had always engaged in farming. His wife died last Thanksgiving. There are four children, the oldest of which is about 14 years old and the youngest, a little girl, 4; two sisters, Mrs. Ludie Shiver and Mrs. Annie Alligood besides numerous other relatives.
