Mrs. Ida Mae Butler, wife of the late John C. Butler, died Sunday, 1 Jun 1947, at 6:00 AM at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. H. Flesch, in Sale City, after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Butler's many friends throughout the county were deeply saddened by the news of her death. Mrs. Butler was 76 years old of age. She had lived near Sale City and Mitchell County for more than fifty years. She was the mother of the late Mr. Levy M. Butler of this place. She had lived in Camilla at intervals during the past several years and had many friends here. Funeral services took place Monday, 2 Jun 1947, at 3:00 PM at Cool Springs Baptist Church with the Rev W. S. Boyton, of Pelham, and the Rev T. L. Richter, of Hartsfield, in charge. Interment was in the church cemetery. Surviving Mrs. Butler are three daughters, Mrs. L. H. Flesch of Sale City, Mrs. James Wages of Columbus, Mrs. Jewell Smith of Baltimore: two sons, W. G. Butler of Columbus and Calvin C. Butler of Miami, Fla.; a brother, Horace Smith of Columbus and foster son, Joe E. Davis. Twenty-three grandchildren and a number of great- grandchildren also survive. Deep sympathy is extended to the family.
