Camilla, Georgia. Joel Luther Palmer, 29, was buried at 3:30 PM Saturday, 30 May 1943, in Akridge cemetery following brief rites from the graveside by Rev T. L. Richter of Oak Grove Church. Born 12 Jun 1912, in Mitchell county, he resided on Moultrie Road, Route 5, for 23 years. Surviving are his father, L. G. Palmer of Moultrie, Route 5, one brother, Clyde Palmer, who is in the southwest Pacific with the Armed Forces, two half-brothers, Ralph and Luther Palmer of Moultrie, Route 5, and two half- sisters, Agnes Haywood and Lorene Palmer of Moultrie, Route 5. Palmer was electrocuted at Tattnal prison May 28 for the slaying of a police officer in Tifton.
