McCleod Griner as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 11 Mar 1949. Camilla, Georgia. Mrs. Mary E. Griner died Saturday, 5 Mar 1949, at 9:30 PM, following an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, 6 Mar 1949, at the Cool Springs Baptist Church where she was a member, Rev Bates and Rev Cates assisting Rev Bunk Waters who was in charge. Internment followed in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, Raymond Moore, Ferdinand Moore, Adwin Clark, Duel Pittman, Johnny Highnote and Noel Griner. Survivors include two sons, E. J. Griner of Sale City and G. W. Griner of Doerun; five daughters, Mrs. Kizzie Hynote, Mrs. Julia Clark, Mrs. Fannie Pittman, all of Sale City, Mrs. Callie Moore of Moultrie, and Mrs. Ella Clark of Camilla. Thirty-four grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren also survive. the deceased was 89 years of age, and was born in Camilla in 1859. She had spent most of her life around Sale City. She was before her marriage to Manuel Griner, who died some years ago, Miss Mary McCleod. Numbers of friends are sympathizing with the family in their bereavement.
