Camilla, Georgia. Mr. M. J. Sanders, prominent Mitchell County farmer, of Evergreen community, died Sunday, 3 Sep 1944, at 1:00 AM at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville after a ten day illness. News of his death caused sorrow and regret among numbers of friends in this county. Funeral services took place Monday, 4 Sep 1944, at 4:00 PM at Evergreen Baptist Church with Rev S. H. Bennett of Camilla Baptist Church officiating, assisted by Rev W. S. Boyton of Pelham. Acting as pall bearers were C. F. Williford, L. R. Goff, Judson L. Green, Henry Edison, Arthur Pitts and W. S. Hilliard. Bramlett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the family plot in Oakview Cemetery. Marcus "Mark" Judson Sanders died in his 64th year. He was born and reared in this county and spent his entire life here. He was married to Miss Susie Rebecca Adams, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Adams, and located in Evergreen community where he was engaged in farming. He had been a member of Evergreen Baptist Church for a number of years and had many friends were saddened by his death. Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. W. C. Burford of Perry, Fla.; Otis C. Sanders of Panama City, Fla.; Mrs. E. Ferns of Portsmouth, Va.; and Hollis Sanders of Camilla. There are also nine grandchildren. All of his children and grandchildren were here for the funeral except one grandson, William Burford with U. S. Armed Forces in Italy. Surviving brothers and sisters of the deceased are Emmett Sanders of Albany, A. L. Sanders of National City, Cal.; Miss Belle Sanders of Macon and Mrs. Mattie Warren of Nashville, Tenn.
