Lastinger as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 13 Oct 1955. Albany, Georgia. Funeral services for A. C. Lastinger Sr., 67, of the Old Pretoria Road, who died Tuesday, 11 Oct 1955, of accidental suffocation while burning grass at his home, were held today, 13 Oct 1955, at 10:30 AM in the chapel of the Albany Undertaking Company. Services were conducted by the Rev J. Frederick Wilson, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Internment followed in the Oakview Cemetery in Camilla with Masonic rites. The following men served as pallbearers: Joe Hughes, J. I. Mason, J. E. Story, H. D. Peek, M. D. Payton and B. J. McBurnett. Mr. Lastinger had been a resident of Albany for the last 30 years, moving to Albany from Quitman. Before ill health caused his retirement, he was chief clerk for the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad in Quitman and Albany, a position he held for 21 years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and Sholto Lodge 237, F.& A. M. of Quitman. He was a past patron of Crape Myrtle Chapter 163, OES, of Albany. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Clyde Sawyer of Emanuel County; a son,, A. C. Lastinger Jr. of Savannah; three sisters, Miss Alda Lastinger of Camilla, Mrs. T. D. Preston of Newton, and Mrs. Judson Rigsby of Sale City; a brother, A. P. Lastinger of Camilla and two grandsons. The Albany Undertaking Company is in charge of arrangements.
