Mar 1954. Mrs. Annie Davis Dies; Hopeful Rites Are Today - Camilla - Mrs. Annie Davis, 82, prominent in church and civic affairs of Mitchell County, died at the home of a son, C. O. Davis, in Hopeful Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Hopeful Baptist Church with the Rev. J. W. Rittenhouse officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Davis had been in ill health for several weeks. Her husband, the late James W. Davis, died Feb 19. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Charlie J. Dodson, Monroe, Mrs. Lenwood P. Singleton, Albany; four sons, James E., Preston O., C. O. and Jack Davis, all of Mitchell County; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
