Camilla, Georgia. Charlie George Griner, 77, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. G. Crovatt, in Camilla, Friday, 10 Jan 1958, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Sunday, 12 Jan 1958, at 3:00 PM from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev James Agan, officiating, assisted by the Rev Bob Mathis, the Rev N. H. Williams and the Rev M. D. Reed. Interment was in the church cemetery with Bramlett Funeral Home in Charge. Pallbearers were J. J. Martin, A. L. Luckey Sr., Perry Barnes, Jeff Hudgins, Sam Palmer, Lois Brooks and Albert Palmer. Mr. Griner was a prominent farmer and landowner in Mitchell County. He was the son of the late Jasper J. Griner and Trissie Palmer Griner, who were pioneer citizens of this county. His wife, the late Maude Weaver Griner, died two years ago. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and active in community affairs. Besides his daughter, survivors include a son, C. L. (Dick) Griner of Camilla; and five grandchildren, Louise Crovatt, Mary Lynn Griner, Charles Griner Jr., Ivy Griner and Ava Griner, all of Camilla.
