Obituary of Donna Irene Syms Shiver 
as written in "Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia Obituaries", Vol 2, page 251, 5/7/58-5/9/58.  

Albany, Georgia.  
Mrs. Jerry B. 
Shiver, 77, of 511 Ninth Ave., died Wednesday at her residence.  She was a native of 
Smithville and had lived in Albany for 25 years.  She was a member of the Tabernacle 
Baptist Church.  Her husband preceded her in death four months ago.  Surviving are three 
sons, Ernest Lee Shiver of Albany, Isaac Shiver of Columbus, and Rudolph Shiver of 
Albany; a sister, Mrs. Clyde Dillard of Leesburg, and 13 grandchildren and 22 great 
grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Tabernacle Baptist 
Church. The Rev. Roger Bass, Dr. A. L. Phillip, and the Rev. Byrum H. Glaze will 
officiate.  Interment will be in Mt Zion Cemetery, Mitchell County. (There was an 
obvious mistake in the article in the listing of names of those officiating - I corrected this) 
Next was a long list of pallbearers (the same as those of her husband) which I will not 
type in.  Woodall and Barnette, Funeral Directors, are in charge of arrangements.
