Bainbridge, Georgia. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Lee Roy Kirkland, 37, of Rout 1, Brinson, who died Thursday, 11 November 1954. A lifelong resident of Decatur County, she was a member of the Mt. Gilead Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Lee Roy Kirkland, and seven children: Patricia, Helen, Hilda, William, Stanley, Hiram and Geneva Kirkland, all of Brinson. Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Landon Griner of Brinson; three brothers, Odel Griner of Brinson, Odgeburn Griner of Hawkinsville and Lorenzia Griner of Albany; and three sisters, Miss Doris Griner of Bainbridge, Mrs. Betty Schuenning of Germany and Mrs. Grace Hatton of Savannah. Funeral services were conducted from the Bethany Baptist Church Saturday afternoon at three o'clock with the Rev H. L. Catrett officiating, assisted by the Rev Dick Ostean. Interment was in Bethany Cemetery with Ivey Funeral Home handling arrangements. Active pallbearers were Elbert Kirkland, Johnny Kirkland, George Kirkland, Robert Boyd, C. L. Earnest and Joe Holton.
