Camilla, Georgia. The community was saddened by the death of John Thomas Reynolds, Jr., prominent Camilla business man, early Friday, 16 Aug 1957, at Emory University Hospital, in Atlanta, after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Sunday, 18 Aug 1957, at the First Baptist Church in Camilla, at 4:00 PM. Rev Louis M. Spivey and Rev N. H. Williams officiated. Comforting funeral music was rendered by Mrs. Delton Harden, soloist, and Mrs. W. A. Smith, J., organist. Interment was in Oakview Cemetery with Bramlett Funeral Home in Charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were A. R. Royal, P. C. Cullens, E. J. Vann III, Charles Kolbie, Frank S. Twitty, Paschal Ward, Harry Bullock and Lynwood Garrett. Mr. Reynolds was born 26 Aug 1907 in Huntsville, Alabama, the son of the late John Thomas Reynolds Sr. and Ada Wheeler Reynolds. He was 49 years of age. He came to Camilla from Huntsville in 1940 to be affiliated with Thrifty Food Store as bookkeeper, leaving this position to join the naval service where he served three years. In 1945 he went into the dry cleaning business with the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Luckey. He served on the City Council for four years. At the time of his death, he and his wife were opening a new dry cleaning plant in Camilla. Mr. Reynolds was happily married to Miss Lorette Luckey, of Camilla in 1940. He was a Woodman and Legionnaire. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ada Leigh and Karen; one son, Ensign J. T. Reynolds III of Norfolk, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. M. M. Cantrell, Mrs. J. M. Lewter and Mrs. J. P. Sory, all of Huntsville, Alabama, and two grandchildren, Patricia and Johnny Reynolds of Norfolk, Va.
