Palmer as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 18 Jan 1957. Camilla, Georgia. Funeral services were held Tuesday, 15 Jan 1957, at 3:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Church for Mr. Russell P. Palmer who died Sunday, 13 Jan 1957 at his home on Peachtree Street in Pelham. Rev Lewis Crosby officiated at the final rites. Nephews served as pall bearers and interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Bramlett Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements. Mr. Palmer was a life long resident of Mitchell County and was eighty years old at the time of his death. He was born 20 Sep 1876, the son of Harmon Palmer and Annie Luckey Palmer. He was engaged in farming during his active lifetime, retiring from farming some years ago due to infirmities of age. Mr. Palmer married in early manhood to the former Miss Metta Eubanks who preceded him in death about twelve years ago. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Brantley Thornton of Pelham; two sons, Aultman Palmer of Cairo and Clarence Palmer of Miami, Fla; two brothers, T. H. Palmer of Camilla and Ambrose Palmer of Cotton community; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Palmer of Pelham and Mrs. Roscoe Eubanks of Camilla; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
