Camilla, Georgia. Final rites for Alfred Lafayette Luckey Sr., 80, who died Friday, 27 Sep 1968, following a lengthy illness, were conducted Sunday, 29 Sep 1968, at 3:00 P. M. at Lake Pleasant Baptist Church. Interment followed in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. the Rev A. J. Cook, pastor of Lake Pleasant Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. P. J. Keadle conducted the services, and Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham was in charge of arrangements. Born in Mitchell County 28 Aug 1888, he was the son of the late Samuel Barfield and Elizabeth Griner Luckey. A retired farmer and barber he was a member of Lake Pleasant Baptist Church, Camilla Masonic Lodge, and Camilla Royal Arch Masonic Chapter. Serving as pallbearers were T. W. Collins Jr. S. B. Luckey, Travis Luckey, Carroll Collins, Marcus Collins, and Charles Davis. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maude Collins Luckey; three sons, C. B. Luckey of Albany, Jack and Alfred Luckey Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. Rena Watts of Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Mary Alice Lee and Mrs. Irma Hudgins and Mrs. Audrey Holley of Pelham; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
