Thornton as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 13 Nov 1968. Camilla, Georgia. Ninety-one year old Albert N. Thornton, of Camilla, died Monday afternoon, 11 Nov 1968, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Homer Keadle, on North Scott Street, where he had been ill and declining health for the past several years. Funeral services wil be held this afternoon, Wednesday, 13 Nov 1968 at the Delwood Baptist Church. Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla is in charge of arrangements and internment will follow in the church cemetery. Except for 10 years in Miami, Fla., Mr. Thornton spent his entire life in Mitchell County. He was born 19 Apr 1877, son of the late John Jasper and Temperance Cox Thornton pioneer residents of the county. He was married to the former Miss Mary Etta Luckey who preceded him in death on 2 Jan 1962. During his active working days he was engaged in farming and carpentry. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Homer Keadle and Mrs. Eunice Maples, both of Camilla; four sons, Albert F. and James W. Thornton of Miami, Fla., Edwin and Fred Thornton, both of Camilla; two Brothers, Charlie Claude Thornton of Decatur, Ala. and J. Herman Thornton of Climax, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Graham of Bainbridge, Mrs. Nanie DeStephano of Jacksonville, Fla., amd Mrs. Ella Renewek of Camilla. In addition Mr. thornton had well over one hundred and ten descendants. There are thirty-two grand children; seventy great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
