Davis Daniels Palmer as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 11 Feb 1960. Camilla, Georgia. Mrs. T. Emory Palmer, age 77, died at her home on the Moultrie Road late Wednesday, 3 Feb 1960, after an illness which had confined her to her bed for the most part of the last nine years. Funeral services were held Friday, 5 Feb 1960 at 3:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The Rev Edgar T. Davis Jr. and Rev Jasper Sadler officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery. Bramlett Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Serving as pall bearers were Hugh Allen, Lewis E. Collins, Harry Collins, Joe Barber Adams, Robert Price, Earle Singletary, Lewis Campbell and W. O. (Buster) Palmer. Mrs. Palmer was born in Hernando County, Florida, on 15 Nov 1882, the daughter of the late Nathan B. and Alcy Mount Davis. She came to Mitchell County in 1915 as a teacher in the Cotton school. She also taught at the old Pleasant Hill School. A widow when she came t this county, she was married 15 Apr 1917, to T. Emory Palmer. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a WMU member at Camilla First Baptist and member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, Emory Palmer; two sons, Leslie R. Daniels of Colonial Beach, Va., and Cecil E. Palmer of Elberton; five step-sons, Eustis Palmer of Tifton, C. Turner Palmer of Mobile, Ala., Tom M. Palmer of Hampton Va., Ed W. Palmer and Frank B. Palmer, both of Camilla; a sister, Mrs. J. H. Glenn Sr. of Pelham; and eight grandchildren a great grandchild.
