Albany, Georgia. Charles M. Hardy, 56, of 2516 Cherokee Drive, died this morning at Phoebe Putney Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. hardy had been a resident of Albany for the past 16 years and at the time of his death owned and operated Hardy's Cleaners. He was born 14 Dec 1910, in Chattanooga, Tn. Mr. Hardy was a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church, veteran of World War II and American Legion Post 30. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Maedell Williams of Coffee County; sone daughter of Chicago; five sons, Raymond D., Ralph D., and Bobby Hardy, all of Des Plains, Ill.; Ronnie and Thomas Charles Hardy of Albany; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Frances Clemmons of Albany; one stepson Elkin Lamar Chatman of Doerun; 15 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Bradwell of Orlando, Fla. and Mrs. Trudy Wilson of Chattanooga, Tn., and a brother, Vernon Hardy of Callahan, Fla. Funeral services will be held Friday, 27 Jan 1967, at 2:30 PM at the Sunnyside Baptist Church with the Rev R. C. Nichols, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens.
