Obituary of Carl Redmond Rackley Sr. 
as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 26 Dec 1963.  

Camilla, Georgia.  
Funeral services for Carl Redmond Rackley, Sr., 
age 83, were held Sunday, morning 22 Dec 1963 at 10:00 AM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist 
Church with the Rev N. B. Jordan officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery 
with Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla in charge of arrangements. Mr. Rackley, a native 
of Mitchell County, died Friday in the Mitchell County Hospital after a two week illness.  
He was a retired farmer and was born and reared in the Greenough Community in 
Mitchell County.  He was a member of the Pebble City Baptist Church. Survivors include 
two sons, Carl R Rackley, Jr., Labron A. Rackley, both of Atlanta; two daughters, Mrs. 
Hardy Carr, Mrs. James H. Edwards, both of Camilla; three brothers, George Rackley of 
Warner Robins, Loyd Rackley of San Francisco, Cal., Joe Rackley of Meigs; three 
sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Boutwell of Palatka, Fla., Mrs. John Brooks of Pelham, Mrs. Ethel 
Williams of Atlanta; 21 grandchildren; one great grandchild.
