Camilla, Georgia. Hillie Auscar Shiver, age 79, died at his home on Oakland Avenue in Camilla on Monday, 21 May 1962, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, 22 May 1962, at 3:00 PM at the residence with Rev Edgar T. Davis Jr., pastor of the First Baptist Church of Camilla officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Bramlett Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were Walter Tennyson, Morris Kolbie, Walter Hays, Julian Stoudemire, Frank McMinn, Gordon Mullis, Reid Prosser and Ralph Going. Mr. Shiver was born in Worth County on 23 Apr 1883, son of the late Henry O. and Molly Shiver. He moved to Mitchell County with his parents at the age of seven and had lived in Camilla for the past sixty years where he was engaged in the grocery and meat market business. He served as a member of the Camilla City Council for 16 years. His wife, the late Della Lovinggood Shiver, preceded him in death some years ago. Survivors include one son, Henry Hill Shiver; two grandsons, Bruce Hill Shiver and Henry Hill Shiver Jr.
