Hurst as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 1 Oct 1965. James A. Hurst, fifty-six old co-owner and operator with his wife of Carolyn's Restaurant and Service Station on new US 19 just outside of Camilla, died early this morning at Mitchell County Hospital of a heart attack. He had been suffering from a heart ailment for several months and hospitalized for short periods. He entered the local hospital Thursday night and died around eight o'clock this morning. It is expected that funeral services will be held some time Sunday but no date and time will be announced until one of his sons, Sgt Frank M. Hurst, stationed in Puerto Rico, can arrive. it is expected that he will reach here Saturday afternoon but this time might change. Mr. Hurst was born in Meigs, Ga., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hurst. He was associated with Cudahy Packing Company for more than twenty-five years, working in Albany, out in Texas, and various other places over the country. He and his wife, the former Miss Carolyn Palmer, daughter of W. D. Palmer, Sr., came back to Camilla several years ago and established their business on the new highway. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons; Terry Hurst, who has just moved here to be associated with Apollo Homes, Sgt Frank M. Hurst, stationed in Puerto Rico, and James A. Hurst Jr. who is in the steel business in Miami, Fla.; three brothers, D. H. Hurst of Tifton, Frank Hurst and Joe Hill Hurst both of Meigs.
